PORTRAIT FAQs

How do we book a portrait sitting?

You can either email or ring me to arrange a suitable date. The £25 sitting fee is payable on the day of your portrait.

What should we wear for the portrait session?

I usually recommend you avoid heavily patterned or very dark clothing. Strong patterns clash with our bright colourful backdrops and dark colours can make portraits look too flat.

When do you take your portraits?

Anytime that suits you! Most people prefer weekends, Sundays are always our most popular portrait days.

What are the ideal conditions for your outdoor portraits?

Perfect conditions would be blue skys or light overcast; any other conditions we would offer to re-schedule.

What happens if the forecast is rain for the session?

As standard, we contact you the day before the session to either confirm or reschedule. If the forecast is not good, we’ll offer you another date in our diary.

When is the best time of year to have our portraits done?

All year round we take portraits, from snow scenes in the winter through to capturing pictures in our wildflower meadow during the summer. The most popular times are spring, summer and autumn for the stunning colours.

What is the maximum number of people that can attend a session?

There is no limit; my biggest family group to date is 80 people!

Can we bring our dog?

You are welcome to include your dog in the pictures. I can even take a few individual portraits of your pet.

How long does a session last?

Each session lasts up to 45 minutes and will include numerous poses and various combinations of your family.

How soon can we see the photographs?

The pictures will be ready to view online within ten days of your session.

How do I order prints?

All my prices can be seen on the portrait section of my website,  I take full payment at the time of ordering your prints, please allow for up to 3 weeks for your order.

Can we buy a high resolution CD of our portrait session?

This is a very popular option, the CD contains every picture taken during your 45 minute session. I can also supply the details of my professional laboratory for fantastic quality prints at trade prices.

Can we collect our pictures or CD or do you post them?

Either way. If you wish to have them posted the standard recorded delivery fee is £5.

How long do you keep our photographs on file?

All portraits are kept on file for 18 months from the time of your sitting.

Can I buy a portrait session gift voucher to give as a present?

The voucher I offer includes the session fee and a high resolution CD of all the images, or prints to the same value. Each personalised voucher is beautifully presented in a handmade wallet with my brochure and vouchers are valid for two years.
