Bay Tree Hotel Wedding Photography
Photographing weddings at the Bay Tree Hotel
This handsome 17th Century town house hotel was beautifully refurbished in 2016. The interiors have been decorated in warm colours, and striking large artworks are displayed on the walls. The hotel is located in one of the Cotswolds’ prettiest towns – Burford.
The Bay Tree combines both old world historic character and chic boutique style. Inside there’s a labyrinth of corridors, cosy rooms and open fires to discover; the bright restaurant extension overlooks the charming and well planted walled garden. The flower borders are bursting with colour in this pretty Cotswold garden, the hotel has made this such a gorgeous area for your drinks reception and wedding photographs.
The wisteria-clad property is situated just off the high street in Burford, with antique stores and enticing independent shops just a two minute walk away. Any of your wedding guests staying overnight at the hotel will no doubt be tempted by the many charming shops on their doorstep, as well as the beautiful walks through the Cotswold countryside.
The light for photography inside the Bay Tree Hotel is beautiful, the way the sun streams through the stone mullioned windows and overhanging wisteria is spellbinding. The characterful rooms and old oak panels look wonderful when illuminated like this, lending itself to some dramatic wedding portrait opportunities. One of my favourite backdrops for photography is the local warm Cotswold stone walls, especially when it’s intertwined with ivy, climbing flowers and wisteria, the Bay Tree Hotel couldn’t be any better for this, the exterior of this enchanting hotel is really special!
There’s a magic and charm that’s difficult to match with a small intimate wedding venue like the Bay Tree Hotel, and I can see why this hotel has been so popular for many years. So far I’ve attended 4 weddings at this charming Cotswolds Hotel, and I can’t wait to return in the not too distant future.
