Compleat Angler Wedding Photography

History of the Compleat Angler

The Compleat Angler was built in the 1600s. Its River Thames location made it easily accessible for Victorian Londoners looking to escape the city smog. As a result, paddle steamers regularly carried travellers to a relaxing weekend in rural Marlow.

Photographing weddings at the Compleat Angler

The Compleat Angler’s idyllic riverside setting is a perfect location for your wedding day and photographs. In winter, drinks inside by the roaring fires are cosy and atmospheric. In contrast, champagne on the riverside lawn in the summer sunshine is very pleasant indeed! The romantic view looks out over Marlow bridge and across the river, to the picturesque church on the opposite bank.

Many couples set sail on one of the hotel’s luxury wedding boats along the Thames, resulting in wonderful picture opportunities.

The stunning terrace, lawns and the adjacent bridge and weir provide amazing backdrops for wedding photograph opportunities. As a result, this is one of my favourite riverside wedding venues. So, if you love a bit of history, a magical riverside location, and divine food, the Compleat Angler could well be for you.
