Kings Chapel Amersham Wedding Photography
Photographing weddings at the Kings Chapel Amersham
The Kings Arms Hotel Amersham is a 34 bedroom 4 star original coaching Inn dating from the 1400’s, which has been extensively refurbished to offer all modern luxuries whilst maintaining the fabulous period charm of the building. The low ceilings, open fires, wooden beams & highly polished crooked floors will take you back to a by gone era.
The 18th century Kings Chapel directly behind the hotel is now part of the Kings Arms, and is an amazing space for civil wedding ceremonies and receptions for up to 120 guests.
The Kings Chapel is a unique tucked away listed property in the centre of Amersham old town with beautiful period features, and all the facilities you’ll need for a one location wedding. The lovely walled garden is perfect for summer weddings and wonderful wedding picture opportunities. The Chapel is available for exclusive use weddings, whilst catering and bar services are all provided by the Kings Arms team.
The chapel’s original pulpit provides a lovely backdrop to this charming venue, whilst the domed cupola ceiling fills the high ceilinged building with fabulous natural daylight. This listed building provides lots of period charm, yet the unfussy interiors still provide the opportunity for you to place your unique stamp on the venue.
Amersham was a popular horse and carriage first coach stop for travellers coming out London, and the town became very important for providing overnight accommodation and meals. The numerous coaching inns are mostly still restaurants and hotels to this day. The old town is full of period charm, and independent boutiques, cafes and shops now line the high street in the original historic buildings, mostly they date from the 15th and 16th Centuries. The grand 17th Century market hall housed the town’s jail, which you can still see.
The Kings Chapel and the old high street are fabulous for wedding photography, you can’t go wrong when you book a wow location and venue like this for your wedding day. I love the view across the rickety rooftops of the old town, and the rolling hills beyond as you stand outside the chapel, you’ll see this view in many of my photographs on my Kings Chapel wedding gallery.
