Taplow House Hotel Wedding Photography

Photographing weddings at Taplow House Hotel

The wedding coordinators at Taplow House Hotel have been recommending me for over 15 years now, and I must have photographed about 200 weddings there over the years. It really is one of the nicest classic Georgian country house hotels, with its high ceilings, chandeliers, big spacious rooms, huge windows and lovely gardens. It also helps that the staff are so friendly, and some have been working there longer than the 15 years I’ve been attending weddings there.

The original house was built in 1568, then in 1628 it was given by James I to Hampson, 1st governor of Virginia, then sadly in 1660 a devastating destroyed most of the building. Upon its strong foundations, the Georgian building that we see today was completed in 1751. Today Taplow House is a stylish 4 star luxury hotel set in 6 acres of landscaped Buckinghamshire grounds. Its elegant rooms, and grand dining room wow any visitors to this fabulous building.

Most years I photograph about a dozen weddings at Taplow House, and it is like a second home to me. A few years ago I attended six weddings over two weekends at the hotel and the staff were joking that I should have just taken a room and stayed there! As a photographer I’m always looking for great architectural features for my backdrops, and Taplow House has these in abundance. It really is a dream location for wedding photography.

I know this hotel like my home, and I’d like to think I know every picture opportunity and angle available!
