Brocket Hall Wedding Photography
Photographing weddings at Brocket Hall
Brocket Hall has seen its fair share of scandal over the years! This Georgian stately home set in 543 acres of country estate in Hertfordshire, just 22 miles north of London, is the ancestral home of Lord “Charlie” Brocket – vintage car dealer, sausage maker, I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here contestant and ex-con.
Brocket was forced to sell up after a financial scandal in the Nineties left him unable to afford its upkeep. He sold the estate to a German property business on a 60-year lease, which turned the house and lodge into a very successful golf club, their restaurant recently won a Michelin star for its French cuisine.
Brocket Hall now offers its sumptuous surroundings for weddings which can be held either in the Georgian house itself or in the fabulous new golf club barn; both overlook the beautiful landscape and lake from up high. Wedding photography opportunities at Brocket Hall are as good as it gets, both the interiors and the grounds will take your breath away!
If you’re looking for amazing interiors with the absolute wow factor for your wedding and photographs, Brocket Hall’s main house ticks so many boxes. The long sweeping driveway through the Brocket Hall Estate really sets the heart racing as you approach this incredible lakeside property. Once inside you’ll be blown away with its magnificent Robert Adam interiors, including the high ceilings, grand chandeliers, beautiful antiques and the extravagantly painted ceiling in the Ballroom. My favourite backdrop for the wedding pictures has to be the Grand Staircase and the Ballroom, both offer so many photograph opportunities, and the abundance of natural light is wonderful in these areas too.
The Brocket Hall Estate also offers a bewildering number of amazing outdoor backdrops for your wedding photographs, thankfully the venue is happy to provide self drive golf buggies for us to scoot around the grounds on the day. Not only are the buggies great for visiting the stunning 18th Century bridge and lakeside locations for pictures, they are so much fun too.
