Le Manoir aux Quat’ Saisons – Hotel and Restaurant
Over the years I’ve photographed ten weddings at Le Manoir aux Quat’ Saisons.
Raymond Blanc, the internationally celebrated chef, owns the renowned Le Manoir. This world famous hotel and restaurant sits in the grandest, oldest house in the picturesque Oxfordshire village of Little Milton. Visitors will experience culture, gastronomy and horticulture. All 32 rooms are individually designed with a unique theme.
Raymond Blanc runs an acclaimed cooking school for both novices and professionals. In fact, the walled garden provides vegetables and herbs for the two Michelin-starred restaurant. They’re beautifully landscaped, and I love using them as wedding photography backdrops. As well, restaurant guests enjoy strolling through the gardens before or after their meals.
The tranquil sunken Japanese water garden is wonderful. For example, gorgeous old stone walls frame the large feature pond and an abundance of fine bronze sculptures. Colourful flower borders draw the eye, and provide almost unlimited backdrops. In contrast, visitors in winter will experience the cosy and luxurious main rooms of the house and the warming glow from their wonderful crackling open fires. This really is a venue for all seasons!

The lake and Japanese water gardens are particularly good for wedding photography. I especially love the beautiful bronze sculptures of the various birds captured mid flight on the water. These make a wonderful feature for wedding photographs, especially when the colourful water lilies are in full bloom.
Photographing weddings at Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons is a real treat for me. Everything about this wonderful venue is truly magical. Weather permitting, I usually do a circular walk through the beautiful gardens with the wedding couple. At every turn stunning backdrops present photographic opportunities.
