Wokefield Estate Wedding Photography

Photographing weddings at Wokefield Estate

There has been a stately home at Wokefield since the first property was built for the Plowden family in the mid 16th Century. The house we see now was built in the 1720s by Charles Parry.  The keys for Wokefield Estate (until recently known as Wokefield Park) have passed through many owners over the years before being purchased by the De Vere Hotel Company, who have transformed the Grade II manor house into a stunning conference centre and popular wedding venue.

As you enter the gate and drive towards this grand manor house, the gorgeous Wokefield Estate comes into view, set within 250 acres of the finest Royal Berkshire parkland. The manicured lawns, picturesque gardens and pretty lake are a big draw for newlyweds looking for their ideal wedding venue.

The entire Wokefield Estate exudes history, romance and elegance, and the house has been the family home of nobles, dignitaries and wealthy families for many generations. The 18th-century main house offers historic grandeur, and a homely atmosphere, whilst the new additions accommodate all the modern facilities and amenities required to host your wedding day. The hotel can accommodate from 30 – 200 guests for civil ceremonies.

My favourite place at Wokefield Estate for wedding photographs is the very grand entrance hallway and staircase inside the entrance to the old house. You can see that no expense was spared to build this very grand building, and the high ceilings, chandeliers and fabulous paintings will take you into another world as you enter this gorgeous house. The light that streams through the big windows into this magical part of the property is spell binding; it is an absolute must location for some dramatically lit classic wedding poses.

I’ve only ever photographed two weddings at this gorgeous house, and I can’t wait to return one day soon.
