Wedding Ceremony At Kings Chapel Amersham
Selena and Anthony were blessed with a beautiful blue sky day for their December wedding at the Kings Chapel in Old Amersham.
This stunning wedding ceremony and reception venue originated from an 18th Century Methodist chapel in the town’s old high street. The owners have retained many of the original period features whilst combining a more modern twist.
The civil ceremony occurred on the mezzanine balcony within the former chapel. From here the guests enjoyed great views of the grand pulpit and interiors. During the vows the winter sunlight majestically illuminated these vast interiors. The huge arched windows and the domed ceiling’s cupola bathed the inner chapel in such beautiful golden light!
It’s always during the ceremony that I can expect to see a few tears flowing, and this wedding was no exception. I saw so many beautiful smiles and happy faces as Selena and Anthony made their promises to one another.
Beautiful Winter Sunlight Group Photographs
Selena and Anthony’s wedding day was filled with happiness and laughter from start to finish; their guests went straight into party mode once the celebration drinks started to flow.
The grass was frozen under foot for the group pictures after the ceremony, but the blue skies made the conditions so enjoyable. I just worked as fast as I possibly could. The results were really worth it as the setting and lighting was gorgeous!
A couple of the wedding guests kindly assisted me during the group shots, to further enhance the lighting. I used my reflectors to redirect the gorgeous winter light onto everyone’s faces. The resulting gorgeous glow on everyone’s faces looked incredible, and helped to keep everyone nice and warm too!
Old Amersham Historic Town Wedding Photography
The speeches were incredible at Selena and Anthony’s wedding, the huge room rang with nonstop laughter as the speakers took their turns in front of the appreciative audience. A slideshow added to the mix, with some truly hilarious moments shared with the wedding guests.
Old Amersham’s medieval High Street provided great options too, and after the meal I captured a few pictures of the newlyweds inside the red brick 17th Century Market Hall. Selena & Anthony needed a little bit of encouragement on my part as it was now a few degrees below zero!
Thank you to Selena and Anthony for choosing me to be your Kings Chapel wedding photographer, and for being so brave in venturing outside in the freezing conditions for my picture suggestions!
If you’re looking for a Kings Chapel wedding photographer, I’d love to hear from you. Wedding venues don’t get any more local for me, I live just a 10 minute stroll away from this gorgeous chapel.
Kind Words
Anthony and I felt very comfortable with Mark from our first meeting in his studio, through to our big day.
We had a truly wonderful wedding day, and Mark definitely captured the spirit and the mood of the day to perfection. A lot of our guests commented on how patient and utterly professional Mark was. We certainly felt that he was there for us, to ensure that we got the best memories possible.
We are very happy with our pictures, and they are a true reflection of the memories that we have.
Thank you Mark! Selena & Anthony
