Dorton House Wedding Photography
Photographing weddings at Dorton House
Grade I listed Dorton House is located on the Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire border near to the town of Thame. This splendid Jacobean Manor House is surrounded by idyllic countryside.
The building is currently used as an independent day school, then during non term time its available for exclusive use weddings, private hire or corporate events.
The house was constructed between 1596 and 1626 by Sir John Dormer the High Sheriff of Buckinghamshire, made from the clay fired bricks in nearby Brill. The current 30 acre estate was also once part of the Medieval Royal Forest of Brentwood. The fabulous dining room and grand staircase have the absolute wow factor, and they both provide amazing picture opportunities for your wedding pictures.
Dorton House can accommodate up to 130 guests for civil ceremonies. They are also in a very unique position of being able to offer wedding couples the opportunity to have either a church ceremony or blessing. Within their grounds is a beautiful 12th century chapel, located directly behind the main house. There are so few venues that can offer a chapel ceremony, and so for many couples Dorton House is understandably their dream wedding location.
