Waddesdon Dairy Winter Wedding – Heather & Ben

Fairytale Winter Wedding At The Dairy, Waddesdon

This gorgeous Waddesdon Dairy winter wedding took place in November. The Dairy sits within one of Buckinghamshire’s finest country house estates. It’s easily one of the most beautiful venues in the UK; it really offers the absolute wow factor inside and out. There is so much to explore around every corner at this magical venue!

Picture log fires, atmospheric lighting, gorgeous grounds, fabulous food, and the most enchanting venue!

The staff at The Dairy have kindly been recommending me for the past 15 years.

The Dairy Wedding Inspiration Day

I met Heather and Ben for the first time at the Dairy’s Wedding Inspiration Day, one of the busiest and most unique wedding fairs in Buckinghamshire. I knew instantly that their wedding was going to be amazing. They both have such great fun loving personalities, and their energy and enthusiasm was a joy to witness, this is always a fabulous indicator of what to expect on the day itself!

Wedding Ceremony In The Winter Garden

Heather looked incredible as she made her grand entrance into the ceremony room on her father’s arm, and friends and family wiped away tears of happiness. I always get a few goose bumps myself when witnessing these emotional moments.

Following Heather and Ben’s traditional yet very heartfelt civil ceremony, it was time for the celebrations to kick off. Infectious laughter filled the room, and it was pretty non-stop right throughout the day!

The Drinks Reception & Meal

Unfortunately, once the beautiful ceremony was over, the rains arrived.

Winter weddings offer unique challenges, with changing conditions and limited daylight. Of course we’d love to be in the stunning lakeside gardens for the pictures, but thankfully the backdrops at The Dairy are wonderful everywhere, even in winter!

You’d never know in these family pictures captured under the venue’s waterside pavilions that it’s raining and pretty cold, and yet the whole time the newlyweds and their family and friends provided the most beautiful smiles.

Who Can Build The Highest Lego Tower

Heather and Ben came up with a fabulous challenge for their guests during the meal. To start with each table had an identical glass table centre full of Lego building pieces. The objective was for each table to see who could build the tallest tower, and some of the creations were pretty ingenious. The guests had lots of fun coming up with their creations, albeit I’m guessing that any rules were discarded somewhat during the construction process! The tallest ones were being built with props borrowed from their tables. The winning masterpiece was cleverly created using a glass vase at the base, and some super light gypsophila flowers at the top to boost the height. It’s always nice to see something really different and fun at weddings, and this game certainly ticked the box for originality too.

Magic Time With Paul Megram

I’m always thrilled when I hear that Paul Megram has been booked to perform some of his magic tricks. This guy is seriously talented! How Paul has everyone in fits of laughter whilst he’s performing his mind blowing tricks, I’ll never know! The pictures below tell the story better than anything I might describe!

Night Time Special Effects Photography

Heather and Ben were determined to venture out into the rain for my floodlit night-time pictures. I use my innovative lighting techniques for dusk and night-time photographs often, particularly at winter weddings with the limited daylight hours.

The annual winter illuminations were newly set up at the main Waddesdon Manor House in readiness for the Christmas market; here was an ideal opportunity for me to produce some really unique images for Heather and Ben.

As soon as the speeches finished, I borrowed one of the guests to act as the brolly holder and we drove up to the Manor in my car.

As we rounded the corner onto the main driveway of the house, there was a stunned silence in the car. The wiper blades swished as we peered across the soggy landscape, and before us was the most surreal sight. Magical lighting effects lit this gorgeous chateau, and we had it completely to ourselves!

I’m used to floodlighting buildings myself, but I can’t come close to this multitude of colourful effects!

That’s enough of me raving about this magical light, so I’ll let my pictures speak for themselves!

Hats off to this amazing couple for their determination to make the most of this fabulous lighting at Waddesdon Manor, even in the rain!

Fairy Lights In The Winter Garden

I loved how Heather and Ben beautifully decorated the Winter Garden; the drapes and fairy lights gave it the most wonderful winter wonderland feel. As the daylight faded, the fairy lights illuminated the interiors to perfection!

Thank you Heather and Ben for booking me to capture your beautiful winter wedding at The Dairy, Waddesdon. The Dairy has recommended me for a number of years, and the backdrops are always stunning!
