Cliveden House Wedding Photography

History of Cliveden House

Wedding photography at Cliveden House is an absolute pleasure.  I’ve been fortunate to be a recommended wedding photographer here for the past five years.

Cliveden House commands the landscape, overlooking the genteel River Thames far below.  Stunningly landscaped gardens stretch down toward the river, maintained by the National Trust.

This beautiful manor house is truly reliving its glory days after extensive restorations. For example, the Great Hall showcases an ornate fireplace, oak panelling, priceless artworks and plush antique velvet furnishings.

Moreover, this hotel has all the luxurious home comforts that you might imagine. In fact, it’s a wonderful way to experience the grandeur of yesteryear. As a result, many regard Cliveden House as England’s finest country house hotel.

During its 350-year history, royal guests from George 1st to  Queen Victoria have graced its stately rooms. As well, many famous people have enjoyed its hospitality. For example, Winston Churchill, Charlie Chaplin, Gandhi, George Bernard Shaw, Elizabeth Taylor, Frank Sinatra and The Beatles have stayed as guests.

Then most recently Meghan Markle and her mother stayed here, the night before her wedding to Prince Harry.

The infamous “Profumo” pool is also found within the gardens, the last remaining listed outdoor pool in England.

The stunning French Dining Room is a really popular choice for weddings. The private roof top terrace also provides a magical setting for wedding photographs, with distant views in every direction.

I love photographing weddings at this beautiful hotel. I’ve also been recommended by the two other local National Trust properties, Waddesdon Manor and Hartwell House for over 15 years.

If you’re getting married at Cliveden House, and you’d like to discuss your wedding photography requirements I’d love to hear from you. Alternatively, click here to learn more about hosting your wedding at Cliveden House.
